It’s almost one of my favorite weekends of the year – Trojan Family Weekend! This year my experience will definitely be different than last year for a few reasons, but I know it will still be a lot of fun!

Last year was the first time my parents had ever come to Family Weekend. When I was a freshman, Family Weekend was during the week of our Thursday game against Cal Berkeley and my parents weren’t able to take off 2 extra days of work to come see me so I told them not to worry about coming. Last year my entire family came (mom, dad, and brother) for the entire weekend and it was their first time going to a USC Game Day which was extremely exciting. This year only my dad and brother are coming and they are only coming for the game Saturday and Sorority Presents on Sunday instead of the whole weekend. Instead of it being their first game, now my brother and dad have been to lots of games since they have season tickets this year!

This year, I will not be presented because I’m no longer a new member in my sorority, but I will be presenting a new member which I am excited about! During my sorority’s Presents, active members “present” new members to their friends and family, kind of like a debutante thing. Last year I was also not on my sorority’s executive board (because I was a new member), but now that I am, I will be on call all weekend for sorority business. We have a reception Friday, a tailgate Saturday, and Presents Sunday, and I am going to be running around our house making sure everything runs smoothly for every event!

I’m excited for all of the events this weekend and I can’t wait to see my family! You can keep up with my shenanigans on my Instagram (@briajamison)!
