I wrote about the Min Family Social Entrepreneurship Competition earlier and I wanted to give you all an update on how we’re doing!
Adam and I’s team, Lotus Cups, is officially in the final round! We’re so honored to be in this group with some pretty incredible teams with crazy awesome things they’re trying to accomplish. In the last month, we’ve done a huge push to get everything possible ready for the competition and company start up. It’s crazy how much we’ve learned and how far we’ve brought our company just in the last 6 months.
We’re creating menstrual cups to empower women to transition to reusable menstrual products. We’ve found this has massive benefits and applications for health conscious, environmentally conscious, low income women and more.
It’s been an incredible learning experience. Adam and I are now working on the final design of our product, prototyping, packaging, and soooo much more. I pretty much spent my entire spring break working on designing and contacting potential partners, and building a website (I’m an aerospace engineer, wtf). We’ve already set up some great partnerships with non-profits that promote reusables across the country such as untabooed and Be a rose, and have a couple more lined up in the next couple weeks!
I never thought I’d be doing anything like this when I went to college, and to think that senior year I’d be starting a menstrual cup company and loving empowering women so much is beyond me, but I’m so proud to be doing this project and empowering all women around the world!!
