Spring Break has been great. I’m back to Los Angeles and starting to prepare for the Los Angeles Marathon but more about that later.
I went home last Thursday after taking a physics midterm (ewwwwwww!). I literally slept through most of break! Where is home you might be asking? Well, home is an hour train ride outside the city of Chicago, in Valparaiso, IN, home of famous Cubs pitcher Jeff Samardzija, Valparaiso University, and probably a lot of other things you’ve never heard of.
I spent most of break sleeping and eating yummy food that my mom made for me (all vegetarian of course =])! It was nice being the only kid home for 5 days! I’ve never been home without either my brother or sister before, so it was nice to be spoiled by myself. I went down to Depauw University in Greencastle, IN to visit my sister. I’d never been to DePauw when school was in session. It was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed meeting all of Alexa’s friends in person instead of talking to their faces on skype. haha I felt like I already knew most of them because I see them daily on the computer.
After that, I really just spent most of the break relaxing. I got to go to my cousin’s first birthday party which was a lot of fun. Ate Lou Malnati’s delivery (my favorite Chicago deep dish), cake, and watched a one-year-old open presents aka it was a lot of fun. I saw Remember Me, with my best friends from home, Ali and Laura =), and actually enjoyed the movie. I recommend it for its twist, unexpected ending. (Unfourtanelty I already knew the ending, but nonetheless I enjoyed it.) The weather back home was nice for this time of year. People in the midwest consider 55 shorts weather. People even lay out attempting to give pasty white bodies a little color. Note to Valpo: 55 is not shorts weather! It is nice to see everybody outside walking/running/hanging out. I remember how nice it is after a lonnnngggg winter to get one of those sunny 55 days. Those of you not from the Midwest will never understand this! I don’t think there was a day I didn’t sleep until noon.
Now I’m back to school. Trying to do some homework I didn’t do while at home and getting ready for the marathon on Sunday! I’ll let you know how it goes =)
