Even though I’m a sophomore, and I’ve been at USC for an entire year, I’ve found that there are still plenty of opportunities to meet new people and find new communities at SC.

For example, for the past few weeks I have been participating in the Southern California Indo Americans activity, “Friends with Benefits.” Through this, members of the club have gotten to attend fun, interactive activities on and off campus, like milkshakes at Ground Zero, delicious desserts at Syrup, and an Indian food luncheon, amongst others. I’ve been to a few and found tons of new people that I have a lot in common with.

There is also a Big/Little program available to participate in, and I am happy to say that I have a great new Big in SCIA! Granted, we don’t get dressed up in crazy costumes, but I had a great time at a huge club dinner, where I met my Big and got to hang out with her! We all took the metro to CPK in downtown LA (seriously, it was so close and convenient!) and were matched up with Bigs and Littles.

I love having someone I can look to for guidance—even though I’m pretty comfortable at SC, I can still use all the help I can get! I can’t wait until next year, when I can get a little and welcome her into the USC community!
