Hello guys!

This week I’m going to tell you a little bit about my experience applying to colleges! As a sophomore, the process is definitely still fresh in my mind.

Being a Cali girl, I knew I was going to apply to a ton of UCs and schools in California, and USC, UC Berkeley, and UCLA topped my list, and I got into all three of them! UC Berkeley and UCLA are great schools, but as I seriously looked into them more often, I realized that they didn’t appeal to me as much as USC did. I know a lot of people who went to those schools and couldn’t graduate in four years, especially science and engineering majors.  They are also quite huge, with hundreds of people in most classes, taught by TAs. I was reassured that USC classes are all taught by professors, with smaller class sizes.

USC has definitely exceeded my expectations for a college. It has literally everything I could want. It’s a huge school, but Viterbi itself is small enough that I can get all the personal attention from professors and advisors that I need. It is academically challenging but is also a social school, where the Trojan Family unites everyone. This is especially apparent during football season, where the campus is draped in red and gold and filled with life. I’ve never been in a place with so many people who are so collaborative socially and academically. It’s so easy to meet people outside of your major, as well as socialize with people who are your same major.

I have no regrets about choosing USC, and I know you won’t either! Congratulations to #ViterbiAdmit students and Fight On!
