Honestly, I didn’t think it would be this easy to readjust to busy school life from the summer, but I’ve been having the time of my life!
This year, I’m taking Molecular Biology, Electrical Engineering 150, Physics 151, and Math 245. I’ve found them all to be quite challenging, but I’m enjoying the combination of science, computers, and math and the different ways they relate to each other.
I live in Troy East, a USC-owned apartment complex just off campus. Although I loved living in Birnkrant (BK 4 for life!), I have to say, living in an apartment for my sophomore year is amazing. I chose to live with some of my closest friends from my floor last year, and so far it has worked out very well. Not only do I get to be social (since there are a ton of other sophomores living in the building) but I also get the peace and quiet solitude that I require for studying because of the ample private space. I’m no chef, but it’s also nice to make whatever food I want to. EVK was pretty great and convenient, but I’m a diehard Easy Mac fan.
My group of friends and I have a goal to explore LA as much as possible this year, and so far we’ve been doing pretty well. I went to hike at Runyon Canyon and the Griffith Observatory, two places I had never been before. It was ridiculously hot, but well worth it for the awesome view!
I already know it; this year is going to be one of the best ever, and I can’t wait to see what it has in store for me.
