I cannot believe that summer is right around the corner with only a few finals standing in my way. Right when the semester comes to a close, I will have the opportunity to go abroad to the Middle East, and work a technical internship back in Los Angeles. A fun and jam packed summer ahead of me, I am trying to find some time to relax too!
So this Spring break was pretty busy and hectic!!! Instead of sitting on my couch and being lazy like I did last year (I wanted to go home SO badly), I stayed in LA, went to Mexico with some friends, and spent time with my mom who came to visit me! Continue reading
I still get looks of surprise when people ask me what I’m studying and my response is that I’m a chemical engineer. These shocked expressions are typically followed by a series of questions such as the following:
No, what are you really studying?
What’s it like to be a girl in a field so strongly dominated by males?
But you’re in a sorority?
And frankly I don’t get it. Why is it so hard for people to wrap their heads around the fact that not all engineers are males? Why is it so difficult for people to grasp the fact that I am in a sorority and in Viterbi. For some reason, the two aren’t supposed to go hand in hand. But they do. So I’m here to address those frequently asked questions.
USC was always my dream school growing up. In fact, my 6th grade teacher told me that in 6th grade I said I was going to go to USC when I was older. So what was it that made me always want to come to USC?
Hey everyone! I hope you have had enjoyable weeks. I took a week off from blogging to take a trip to Mexico for spring break and had a great time! Now that I’m back in the groove of things, I cannot believe this school year is already coming to an end, and I will be a junior before I know it. It feels like not too long ago that I was choosing which college to go to. Since many of you will be making your college decisions in the next month or so, I thought I would tell you a little bit about why I chose to come to USC.
Hey everyone! Happy Sunday! I just got back from Hawaii for spring break which was amazing and it’s definitely hard to get back into work mode after that, but this week I wanted to share about what made me choose USC. Choosing college is by far the most difficult decision I had faced at that time, and it’s a huge commitment to choose somewhere for four years, but USC not only lived up to my expectations but far exceeded them.
I just got home for Spring Break last night, and I’m so excited to be blogging from Dallas, Texas for the first time in a while. I’m so happy to be back in Dallas for the week, especially since I haven’t been home in a long time considering the fact that I spent the majority of my Christmas break in Antarctica. I’m also glad to be able to spend time in Dallas since I’ll be studying abroad in Rome through the Viterbi Overseas Program for the majority of my summer.
This week I wanted to write about my spring break plans for next week! It’s right around the corner! Now, after a long first half of the semester I am super excited to be visiting my brother in the beautiful city of Santa Barbara. I haven’t seen my brother since Christmas, so it has been long overdue… Continue reading
I hope things are going well. I’m currently sitting in the Los Angeles International Airport, more affectionate known as LAX, waiting for my (delayed) flight home to Portland. On the bright side, it’s only delayed by 25 minutes, and that just gives me 25 more minutes to blog, right? Anyways, back to the reason I’m hanging out at LAX: I’m heading home for Spring Break 2014!
