Since midterm season (round two) is now in full swing, my “Halloweekend” consisted mostly of studying in the library. I had a math midterm this morning, I’ve got a statics midterm on Thursday, and I have an essay due on Friday. There’s a lot on my plate mentally draining me, so that’s why I was so relieved to have our Philanthropy event this weekend for my fraternity (Phi Delt).
When studying for a long time, I need some sort of metal release every so often, and Beach Bash was perfect for that. Beach Bash is our annual volleyball tournament that we host for our fall philanthropy. Sororities pay to enter teams in the tournament, and all proceeds are donated to The ALS Association Golden West Chapter- this year we raised about $3000!
The tournament’s exciting, loud, and a ton of fun. It’s single elimination so stakes are high and everyone gets INTO it. This weekend, the team I “coached” (hyped up) got first place, which made it all the better.
It’s events like this that remind me why I joined Greek Life. It’s so nice to have a place to go relieve stress and take a study break at for a few hours. However, I need to get back to the books- wish me luck this week!!
