One fun part of the USC tradition is our rivalry with UCLA. The week leading up to the UCLA football game is always so much fun, and I think Conquest was definitely the highlight of the week’s activities. On Thursday night, McCarthy Quad turns into a huge pep rally. The USC Song Girls and dance team performed as students gathered on the field. In tradition, we also burned a huge bear (which always foreshadows our victory on the football field!). After the performances and bonfire, students can go on the ferris wheel while they wait for the Conquest concert to start. This year Third Eye Blind came to perform, and it was so much fun to sing along to some of my favorite songs from middle school with all of my USC friends. My favorite part of the night, however, was the awesome fireworks show…I’m so blessed to be a Trojan!
