Exploring Los Angeles

T-2 weeks till Thanksgiving Break, and I couldn’t be more excited.  Besides getting to go home and see family, break is a great opportunity to well, have a break.  But, while I am not home, I love to take breaks in the form of day trips and adventures to different restaurants in LA.

One of my favorite day trips I took last year was a trip to Knott’s Berry Farm! My floor in Birnkrant freshman year won tickets to go to Knott’s Berry Farm, so I took that opportunity to have a little break right after finals! It was such a wonderful day getting to just relax and enjoy the roller coasters.  Beyond Knott’s, there are so many other amusement parks to go to in the LA area, such as Disneyland, California Adventures, Magic Mountain, and Universal Studios Hollywood.  In fact, I am hoping to make a few day trips out of these in the upcoming semesters.

I also love grabbing food throughout Los Angeles.  One of my favorite places to take a study break is at Sprinkles Ice Cream in Beverly Hills. My favorite thing is the cupcake ice cream sandwich, a Sprinkles cupcake cut in half with Sprinkles ice cream in between.  It sounds a little crazy, but it’s really good! Additionally, Bacaro LA, a tapas bar north of campus, is a fun place to grab a quick bite and catch up with friends on a study break.  Bacaro is about a 15-minute walk from campus, and a perfect place for a little meal.  Beyond these two places, there are so many other great restaurants and dessert places around LA to adventure to for a study break.  I could truly go on forever about the amazing food in Los Angeles, but I’ll save that for another time.

Until next week,

Lauren H.
