Having a car when you come to college isn’t always feasible, but due to being in one of the biggest and most popular cities in the world, there are many alternative ways of getting around Los Angeles without a car.
- The Metro: With stops all over Los Angeles (even going as far south as Disneyland), the Los Angeles Metro can pretty much take you anywhere you want to go around LA. There are 2 stops that are right on the edge of campus for the new Metro rail, an actual train that isn’t affected by traffic, and there are stops all over for the Metro bus! For just $1.75, you can explore anything you want in LA via bus or rail.
- Zip Car: With Zip Cars parked all over campus and near University Housing, you can easily snap this pay by hour or day rental car as a USC student! Zip Cars are pretty much just rental cars for the day or even just if you need to run a few errands around town. They’re super affordable, especially if you split it with friends!
- Uber: This new ride sharing service has become increasingly popular for USC students. By just downloading the app to your smart phone, with just the tap of a button you can have an Uber ride right at your door to pick you up to take you where ever you may need to go.
