In simple terms, Mechanical Engineering is the engineering of things that move in this atmosphere. Courses for mechanical engineering at USC range from lecture test based courses such as thermodynamics, statics, fluid dynamics, to the infamous Mechoptronic Lab course. It is a course students take their 3rd year, and while it is one of the most difficult courses USC has to offer, almost every student leaves that class thinking it was the most useful class USC or any university has to offer. Between Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and Astronautical Engineering, Mechanical is the more general discipline. While USC makes sure all those three can be applied to various careers and fields, mechanical will be the most general, but still interesting, interactive, and rigorous.
