Last summer I interned at Splunk, a data analytics company based in San Francisco. I was doing Product Management and I hope to return full time when I graduate.
I studied abroad for the Fall 2015 semester at the University of Melbourne in Australia. I took physics, chemistry, calculus, and database systems while I was abroad and all my classes tranferred back to USC.
SWE aims to stimulate women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders. I’ve met an amazing group of women through this organization, and I love that the USC chapter includes a variety community, social, and professional networking events!

My Major at USC: Industrial and Systems Engineering

My Favorite Classes
I hope to be a Product Manager after college so this class was really applicable to my interests. I learned about techniques in leading technical teams and everything from creating a budget to a timeline.
This class taught me object-oriented programming in Java. The structure of the class involves five assignments that all build on the previous one so the final assignment was a super complex networked Jeopardy game. At the same time you are put into groups to build your own app using software engineering methodologies.

My Tips for You

Application Essays

Get genuinely excited about USC! And be honest, especially in the USC short answer. I remember I said my favorite movie was Zoolander and my favorite food was cookie dough ice cream.

Application Extracurriculars

Don’t feel pressured to list every last extracurricular activity you’ve ever remotely been involved in. It’s totally cool just to talk about the few things you’re most interested in.

Two Truths and a Lie

Can you guess which of these are true or false?
True! Look back through my instagram to when I studied abroad in Australia! They were so cute and sleepy.
True! Hahaha I learned how difficult it is to golf. It looks like you just have to swing the club but it’s actually so much harder! It was definitely a good learning experience but I got very frustrated with myself.
False! I’m am minoring in Business Economics and I took Mandarin in high school but I haven’t taken any language classes at USC.

My Favorite Shows

  • Parks and Recreation is a classic for me! It’s funny, witty, and each episode is  short enough to help me relax a little in between classes or homework sets!

  • Probably one of my favorite shows on TV right now! It’s fun, lighthearted, and actually got me into the superhero scene! Next stop, Comic-Con in San Diego?

  • The Office never fails to make me laugh out loud. I’ll be honest, I cried a little when *SPOILER ALERT* Jim and Pam got married and when Michael had to leave 🙁 Nevertheless, definitely one of my favorites!
